Problem 1: SaskTel Email Login Issue
Solution 1: Reset Account Password
The panacea to most of the password-related issues is resetting the password of your SaskTel email account. Whether you have forgotten your password, lost account credentials, or hacked your email account, resetting your password will surely help.
Here are the steps for resetting your SaskTel email password:
- Start by accessing the https://webmail.sasktel.net/#/login page, and tap on “Forgot Password”.
- Type your email Id and fill in the CAPTCHA. Then, click “Next”.
Step 3: You need to answer the security questions or the account number to verify your identity.
Step 4: Tap on OK.
Step 5: Type a new password and then type it again to make sure both text fields match each other.
Step 6: You need to leave the screen when you get the message stating “Your password has been successfully changed”.
Step 7: Tap “Ok”.
You have not successfully reset your SaskTel email password.
Solution 2: Clear Browsing Data
You can clear browsing data such as browsing data, history, or cache (temporary internet files) when you are unable to sign in. This will eliminate problems that are degrading the performance of your browser, leading to sign-in errors. To clear the stored data, you can access the History or Settings>> clear browsing data.
Solution 3: Check the Correctness of Login details
The set of login details consists of two components, namely username, and password and they both should be typed correctly to access your SaskTel email account. To make sure you are entering the right login credential, check if:
- The spellings are correct.
- Caps and NUM locks are off.
Solution 4: Fix the Browser Settings
While using the browser-based version of SaskTel email, make sure you regularly monitor the settings of your browser if outdated settings are likely to affect your holistic experience with the webmail service. Some basics settings to take care of are:
- Change the home page settings of your browser.
- Modify the default internet settings.
- Make required changes in the online profile.
- Manage and save the password for the SaskTel webmail site.
- Clear the tracking cookies and cache.
- Fix the troubleshooting errors.
- Check and block the pop-up messages.
- Delete the shortcuts, favorites, or bookmark for the webpage and enter the complete login URL in the search bar.
Problem 2: SaskTel is Not Sending Emails
Solution 1: Check Position of Text
While you are trying to send a text message but it is bouncing back with an error message “Cannot send a message using the server smtp.sasktel.net…,” it can be due to the wrong placement of text in the message; it should be placed in the main body of the text and not in the subject line.
Solution 2: Update Email Password and Username
If you have recently changed your password through the web interface, make sure you update the password on the device and third-party email client where you have configured your account. It can be done through the incoming AND outgoing server settings.
Solution 3: Enable authentication
For sending the message you need to have the authentication enabled in your outgoing mail server settings or the third-party email client app on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. Therefore, access the Outgoing server settings, and make sure the “Authentication” field has any of the following selected:
- “Requires authentication” or
- “Outgoing server requires authentication” or
- “My server requires authentication”
- OR
in relation to incoming server settings, choose “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”
Note: If you are having errors with your desktop mail app, go to the Email support hub (sasktel.net) and select the type of email you are using.
Problem 3: SaskTel is Not Receiving Emails
Solution 1: Check your Junk (Spam) folder
“Junk” is the most neglected folder that sometimes can hold important emails which Inbox denied to store. Thus, never miss checking the spam folder that might contain the emails you are looking for. After reviewing the Spam folder, if you find emails that you need to move to the Inbox, follow these steps:
- From the Mail section, select Spam.
- Now, sort messages from spam, by clicking on the ID from the top-right corner.
- Select one option from the following:
- ID
- Date
- Sender – a good choice when reviewing a large number of spam messages
- Subject
- Message Size
- Right-click on the message that you want to move to the Inbox and click on “Mark as safe”.
Solution 2: Add Contacts to Trusted Sender List
By adding the contacts to the Trusted Sender List, you can stop SaskTel from marking them as spam and saving their emails into the Inbox.
- From the top of the message screen, click on the sender’s name and email address, and click on the menu icon at the end.
- Click on Add to Trusted Senders list.
- Move all messages from the Spam folder to the Trash folder, click on the checkbox on the top of the option of the first column and click on the Trash icon.
Important Note: Depending on your choice of outcome, you need to alter the Settings for your spam filter preferences.
Solution 3: Setup DKIM on Domain
SaskTel.net has recently introduced new security measures, and now it can detect the sender’s domain for DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail). This is used to confirm the identity of the sender (domain) that is related to the message (content as well as author).
The DKIM set up on the domain will direct the message of users to the spam folder instead of the inbox. Therefore, if the sender has incorrectly set up DKIM on their domain, make sure you mark them safe to get them delivered to SaskTel.net inboxes.
The email senders can use https://dkimcore.org/tools/keycheck.html, a tool to check if they have DKIM enabled.
Solution 4: Check for Email Forwarding
Check if your account has email forwarding enabled, due to which your emails are being directed to another email address. To do so, go to:
- Go to Preferences > Mail > Advanced.
- And make sure:
- Make sure there’s no email address in the forwarding field
OR - Check “Keep a copy of forwarded mail in the Inbox“.
- Make sure there’s no email address in the forwarding field
Solution 5: Check for SaskTel.net Storage Limit
The total storage limit of 3 GB includes all folders including Inbox. You receive a warning message from SaskTel when the storage is 75% full. On receiving this message, delete the messages that are no longer useful to you, mainly with large attachments. Also, delete data stored in spam and trash folders to clear space for new messages. You need to make sure that you follow all necessary measures once you reach the SaskTel.net storage limit.
Solution 6: Use IMAP Instead of POP3
With POP3 configured on your mobile device or third-party email client, your email messages will be removed from the server and thus you end up losing some email data from the server. Thus, it is always recommended to set up IMAP settings instead of using the POP3. In addition, the POP3 server is less stable and flexible when compared to IMAP. Therefore, if you are frequently losing incoming messages, use the IMAP server and not POP3.
Problem 4: SaskTel is Not Working On iPhone and Android

No matter whether you are an iPhone user or have Android devices, your SaskTel.net account should be configured in a proper fashion. The settings you will be needed to configure the SaskTel email account:

- Go to Mail, and click on the 3 dots.
- Click on Settings (gear icon).

- The server port will automatically change to 995
- Click Done.
Solution 3: Remove and Re-configure the Account
If SaskTel is not working on your Smartphone, the last resort is to remove your account and re-add. This will fix the server settings errors. This will eliminate all the errors that have occurred due to poor configuration.
Problem 5: Blocked SaskTel Email Account
Violating the terms and conditions prescribed by SaskTel can lead your account to blockage. However, there are many other reasons why you can have a blocked SaskTel email account. But if you are blocked by SaskTel without any fault of yours, you can try retrieving it using these solutions.
Solution 1: Follow Email Sending Limits
Important Note: When you send one email message to 10 people at a time, it is counted as 10 messages. Hence, keep this in mind while sending messages in bulk.
The limits that you need to follow, are:
- 100 email addresses for one email
- 250 email messages in an hour
- 500 email messages in a day
- Using a desktop email program, you can send 500 messages in a day.
- While Using Webmail, the limit is 200 messages in a day.
When you don’t follow the limits that SaskTel has prescribed for its users, your account can be blocked, and thus make sure you are not sending bulk emails from your account. There are additional tools to send bulk emails, hence avoiding using a primary SaskTel email account.
If you violate the limit, you will be warned through messages like:
- Too many recipients
- This account has been disabled because it has exceeded sending thresholds
(see Troubleshooting a blocked email account) - On receiving this message, your account will be blocked from sending emails for at least 24 hours.
Solution 2: Contact SaskTel Support for Unblocking
When your SaskTel email account is blocked due to exhausting the threshold limits, for instance, sending too many messages from your account, you can reach 1.800.SASKTEL (1.800.727.5835) over the phone and request them to reset your account for you. Once done, you need to wait for at least 24 hours to restore your email account.
This is it! You are now expert enough to combat the SaskTel email issues without any external help.
